AFM™ Ultra dressings combine the pumping action of Active Fluid Management™ technology with a highly absorptive foam layer to provide an optimal wound healing environment. These dressings are engineered to provide gentle padding and protection to both chronic and acute wounds. Designed for multi-day use, AFM Ultra dressings are well suited for use with compression therapy and for use on highly exuding wounds such as diabetic, venous and pressure ulcers.
AFM™ Ultra dressings provide superior fluid management along with protective cushioning in one dressing. AFM technology enables the dressing to pump and retain excess wound exudate away from the wound and periwound area providing an optimal healing environment. Unlike traditional dressings, AFM Ultra dressings isolate and prevent reintroduction of fluid to the wound to help reduce the risk of maceration.
AFM technology allows just enough fluid to remain on the wound surface to promote moist wound healing. Because the top layer is made of high moisture vapor transmission rate (MVTR) film, fluid can rapidly transpire from the dressing, creating additional absorptive capacity in the foam layer.
